Aldi Derby 10 Mile 2024
The 8th Derby 10 Mile took place on Sunday, 17th November, 2024. Derby Arena was once again the destination for runners across the region to run the race that concluded the RunDerby race calendar.
The event sold out a week before and the race village and route was well equipped for the extra finishers this year.
There was no course record in 2024, but an impressive time of 50:18 was run by first placed finisher David Bishop of Derby Athletics Club. Not far behind was Milan Campion in 50:53, representing Bristol and West AC. Completing the podium was Alex Hampson of Mansfield Harriers in 51:31.
The first female to cross the line was Naomi Mitchell of Birmingham Running Athletics & Triathlon Club in 56:29, Abbie Pearse of Steel City Striders RC in 58:14 and Hayley Gill of Mansfield Harriers in third place with a time of 59:52.
Course Records remain intact from our 2021 races. Male Record: 48:37 Ross Millington, Stockport Harriers & AC (2021) Female Record: 56:17 Jip Vastenburg, Stockport Harriers & AC (2021).
In the race village, runners were treated to a complimentary pre and post-race sports massage by students from the University of Derby. The Derby Runner were there with their array of the latest running kit, Smalls Kitchen were on hand to serve their protein balls, and a team of runners including our very own Emma Evans were raising funds for Enlighten the Shadows, our charity partner for 2024.
The Aldi Derby 10 Mile event was only possible with thanks to all the race sponsors and amazing team of volunteers in the race village and out on the course. We received incredible feedback in 2024 and hope to deliver more of the same next year.
The 9th Derby 10 Mile will take place on 16th November 2025 and there is the advantage of saving with a Triple Package bundle including Carsington 7+, Wilne 10k, and Autumn Package incorporating the Wilne 10k and Derby 10 Mile in 2025.
